1.Use bingomarker to make a mark on a picture board for all insects, or all non-insects, or to select all the same insect.

3. Go to: www.delicious.com/AT2OT, select Activities tag, select Science tag, Uckiest Site on the Internet, Yucky Fun & Fames, Fun & Games, Creepie Bugs Game, Bug Facts, watch 4 videos about insects and their habitats. For an activity, go to Activities, Creepie Bugs.
4. Copy pictures out of the science book for insect body parts. Make two copies of each. Match pictures using a dial scanner or use a baseball card notebook insert to make a picture board.
5. Buy 2 packages of plastic insects and a flat baking pan at Dollar store. Add stick on magnets to each. Use a page protector with light weight color paper inside. Tape page protector on the flat baking pan. Magnets should slide over plastic. Sort the same plastic insects onto the same color.
6. Find a picture of an anteater. Sort pictures of ants and other insects for the anteater to "eat".
7. Use Dial Scanner to make a choice to sort all pictures into piles of insects and non-insects.
8. Using a picture board. Make a few copies of the board and cut apart the squares. Use a Dial Scanner to select a picture. Place picture on the board until you have gotten 3 in a row.
9. Plan with the teacher that the student will answer a question about insects, such as, "name one insect that lives in a colony". Have correct answer set on a Dial Scanner or single voice output device for student to activate when called upon.

12. Use diecut to cut out insects from Fun Foam or cardstock. Punch diecuts of same picture in colored paper. Glue a piece of cardstock on back of Fun Foam or punched cardstock to make a "puzzle" form. Have student match punched paper pictures that fit the diecut puzzle.
13. Have student to a classmate survey of "what insect they would least like to find on their chair". Each classmate can circle a picture or thumbs up/down, or write their answer. Make a chart with pictures in columns showing how many of each was chosen.
14. Use a joystick or trackball at the computer to access a computer activity about insects.
15. Have a general education student, who learns best by reading orally, to record one or two paragraphs about insects from the science book onto a cassette tape. Switch using student can play the tape on a cassette player.
16. Use a cube, with pictures of bugs on each side, to test other student's knowledge of insects/non-insects.
17. Set up a DVD about ants to play on the computer using a program, such as, Windows Media Player. Place a switch (connected to the computer using a computer switch interface) to have the pointer resting on the play/pause button. Pause the DVD. Student must push the switch to continue playing the movie.
18. Use an environmental control unit with a green light plugged into it. Set the timer on 5 minutes. Consistently have the student push the switch to activate the green button when starting an independent task. Student is not to stop working until the green light goes out.
19. Set the ECU with the green light (see number 18) for a time that the class must work on a project. Teacher can cue the student to click the switch at the beginning of the classroom task. All students must continue working until the green light goes out.
20. Put 6 classmates names on a spinner. Student will activate the spinner to choose who will be today's line leader.
21. Put various sight words on the Dial Scanner. Student should pick words to form a simple sentence.
22. Use the pictures of an insects body parts (see number 11). Put the parts on the Dial Scanner. Student must choose correct part upon request.
